DIY Teeth Straightening - Too Good To Be True?

DIY Teeth Straightening - Too Good To Be True?

We understand that many patients are seeking effective and affordable dental care – from many different types of sources. However, it is important to understand that sometimes the most affordable solution is not always the safest or even effective.

Orthodontics is an important practice that should only be performed by those dentists with specialized training. Not every dentist is qualified to perform orthodontic services, so why would you try to manage your own orthodontic care at home?

The task of straightening teeth and bringing better alignment to your bite should only be managed by your dentist. Failing to involve your dentist could lead to real trouble and more costly dental bills down the road.

Unfortunately, one of the newest trends in dental care is do-it-yourself orthodontics.

Kits available on the market now allow customers to use putty to take impressions of their crooked teeth at home and then mail them off to a lab to create a set of aligner trays for them. These products are meant to work like Invisalign clear aligner trays – but cut out the oversight and safety of an orthodontist.

If you are ready to invest in the future of your smile, and do so in a responsible and healthy way – contact our office to learn more about braces or Invisalign clear aligner trays.
